Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. Her name is widely recognized with establishing the current study of memory recall by eyewitnesses, and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, has won several prizes and grants. She has worked with various governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy and research concerning child victims in the legal system. She currently acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). She is the founder of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
